wow...where do you guys get your stereotypes?
at least in GW I've noticed a LOT of women playing the game, in my alliance right now there's an all girl guild, the alliance leader, my guild leader, and a fair amount of the officers & members of various guilds are all female. They're all very good players as well. I also got my last gf into guild wars, which she continues to play and enjoys it very much... sooo....you guys who insist on sticking to those sexist stereotypes...you might not know you're meeting as many girl players as you are because they hear you spouting that crap and: a.) don't say more than 3 words to you; or b.) lie and say they're a guy to avoid having to get hit on/insulted by you |

The truth of the matter is they're more scared of prince f*cking charming (that's you) than the idiots who are being 'sexist.' (You're not fooling anybody, you know you're not.) What it boils down to is this; There are two kinds of girl gamers. A girl who plays video games. She likes them. Nobody had to *get her into* them. Whether she sucks at it or not, she plays for fun. She doesn't ask for free stuff, and when she gets it, more often than not she doesn't feel obligated to repay whomever it was given to her by. Whe she finds some gear to share, she shares it. And the 'gamer gurl.' She plays video games because it's just another outlet for her to socialize. (Myspace, Facebook, lastfm, message boards, IM, texting, and blogging, is clearly not enough.) She broke into the gaming scene when she clued in that girls can hold their own gaming. She maybe started because a boyfriend coaxed her into it. Maybe she's single, and she plays video games because she has the notion nerd guys are going to be more faithful than the trash shes used to and she's hunting for a new boytoy. There's no two ways about it, she sucks at it, she uses male players to get further in game, and she's the reason we're all so bloody skeptical about females in game. She spends her day sitting in town scouting for the most promising player to attach herself to. She's constantly ruining the environment begging for stuff, leaching, and whining about how HARD everything is and why everyone is mean to her. She hops from guild to guild and is generally unpleasant. When she finds gear, she keeps it, and never shuts up about it. It is also more often than not ACCIDENTAL because she's not really an active enough gamer for anything to drop without the planets aligning or some other outside influence on fate. I could always just start assuming that all the guys that I play GW with are all illogical sexist dumbasses tho I suppose. To each their own. |

Ever since it became cool to be a nerd (male or female) the flood gates for idiots in both genders have been blown off the hinges. Owning a wii and a pair of triforce panties doesn't make someone a gamer. Last edited by Drakken Breathes Fire; Mar 14, 2008 at 09:52 PM // 21:52.. |

Emos? Jocks? This isn't high school dude. Because you refuse to treat another human being as an equal because of some biological reason whether it be gender, race, whatever doesn't make him gay, it makes you ignorant. |

by the way i'm probably the least sexist out of all of you.... i recognize the differences but i rather don't care for them.... and no i don't treat women and men equally as they are fundamentally and psychologically different... emotionally they both have different needs and requirements and treating them as the same is the utmost proof of your ignorance. I think playing gw you'd hit puberty by now missy..... that should be enough realize the physical differences.... it will take a few years for you to understand the psychological differences.... there few good reads i can recommend. Hard to say how many of us are female; all the female characters make it confusing
I'd love an all-girl guild, but I never found one when looking for a new guild to join |
